Consumer court orders matrimonial site to pay ₹60 thousand to man who could not find a suitable wife for his son

The complainant, Vijaya Kumar, approached Dilmil Matrimonial office on March 17, 2024 and paid ₹30,000 after being assured that she would find a suitable match for her son within 45 days.

However, despite repeated tracking and visits to their offices, the website failed to yield a single match.

When Kumar tried to resolve the issue by contacting the company, the company was unable to assist him and allegedly used inappropriate language when he asked for a refund.

Kumar sent a legal notice to the website on May 9 demanding a refund, but to no avail. This prompted him to file a complaint with the district consumer forum, seeking both a refund and additional compensation for the inconvenience caused to him.
