SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Shreveport police responded to an assault and battery on Sunday, November 3 around 3:45 p.m.

The incident occurred at a hotel in the 6700 block of Rasberry Lane.

Officers describe the scene as having a “strong odor of alcohol and blood on the ground.” One man was also found to have severe bleeding from his head.

Investigators determined that the victim and Tiana Phelps had traveled together from Dallas after meeting on Facebook several days earlier. After an argument over finances, the situation escalated and Phelps allegedly hit the victim repeatedly in the head with a bottle of Don Julio tequila.

The victim, who suffered serious injuries on the right side of his face, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Phelps was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree battery.
