LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – After a cloudy start, more sunshine is expected this afternoon as temperatures climb into the upper 70s and approach 80°. Wind gusts of 20 to 30 MPH are expected throughout the day. We have partly cloudy skies overhead tonight as southerly winds limit our lows to the 60s. Winds near 25 MPH continue into Tuesday morning.

The wind will pick up tomorrow morning; Wind gusts near 35 MPH are possible as showers move into the area. It looks like the rain will continue until the evening hours. High temperatures near 80° are expected Tuesday afternoon. Widespread rain dominates the region Tuesday night, while a cold front shifts eastward. As the rain progresses, the wind will also subside.

Rain chances remain for parts of Wednesday and Thursday as a cold front continues through the region. There is a chance of additional rain next weekend.
