Dillon Gabriel wants to pass

oregon: The Oregon Ducks showed the nation why they are the team to beat this season. Dillon Gabriel is playing like a top-flight point guard and they easily defeated Michigan 31-10. On Sunday, the Ducks were unanimously voted the No. 1 team in the AP top 25 poll.

colorado: Despite not playing on Saturday, Deion Sanders and the Buffs now have a path to the college football playoff. Thanks to the losses of Iowa State and Kansas State on Saturday, this now opens the door to a race for the Big 12 title game. Colorado, which was erased after the Nebraska loss, needs to win and Iowa State must lose one more game and they will play for the Big 12 title. It’s crazy how college football works.

South Carolina: How about those Gamecocks? The biggest upset of the day was South Carolina defeating Texas A&M just a week after the Aggies prevailed against LSU. Shane Beamer has once again worked his November magic and the SEC is now wide open with every team in the conference suffering at least one loss. It’s a big weekend for South Carolina.

vanderbilt: Diego Pavia once again defeated a team from the state of Alabama. Vanderbilt is now bowl eligible and picked up its sixth win, this time against Auburn. This was Diego Pavia’s second time beating Auburn in a year, having faced New Mexico State last year. It’s a huge day for the Commodores!

Ryan Day: This might be Ryan Day’s biggest win since joining the Buckeyes. His Buckeyes have lost three straight years to Michigan, but this year’s Wolverines are a far cry from years past, and that’s just what Victory Day needed. Maybe Michigan fans will laugh at OSU not having to get past a strong Wolverines team to make some noise, but who cares if you’re the Buckeyes?

Camera Ward: Miami quarterback Camera Ward He had great success in the Hurricanes’ 53-31 win over Duke. The Hurricanes finished the game on a 36-3 second-half run, led by Ward’s 400-yard passing with four touchdowns. Miami improved to 9-0 on the season and based on Ward’s style of play, he will likely hear his name called in the NFL Draft early.

Cam Ward throws

Iowa: Running back Kaleb Johnson is a serious All-America contender and is a few more big plays away from sneaking into the Heisman conversation. Any NFL team interested in a potential star running back in the upcoming draft is certainly paying close attention.

Jaxson Dart: Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart had a record-setting performance in the Rebel’s blowout victory over Arkansas on Saturday. He threw four first-half touchdowns to give Ole Miss a 35-10 halftime lead and finished the game with 515 passing yards and six touchdowns, setting the program’s record for yards passing and passing yards.

indiana: The Hoosiers football team managed to overcome an early 10-0 deficit and eventually beat Michigan State convincingly. Eighth-seeded Indiana celebrated a 47-10 win on Saturday to improve to 9-0 on the season. This is the first time in program history that the Hoosiers have recorded wins in all of their first nine games. Indiana quarterback Kurtis Rourke made an effective return from injury and finished the day with 263 passes and four touchdowns. Indiana continues to exceed preseason expectations.

Dabo Swinney is angry

Clemson: Talk about a hot mess. Clemson entered the game with a clear path to the ACC title game against Louisville, and that’s now gone. An embarrassing performance and SMU’s win over Pittsburgh on Saturday night puts the Tigers in deep trouble in the ACC championship game, and I’m not even discussing the College Football Playoff. Terrible day for Dabo Swinney.

Georgia: Yes, the Bulldogs beat Florida, but they also look to be a mess on offense, especially quarterback Carson Beck, who finished the day with three interceptions. The Dawgs went all out in the fourth quarter against the Gators’ third-string QB. I don’t know what Kirby Smart has to do with this offense right now, but he better figure it out quickly with his trip to Ole Miss this week. It was a strange day for the Bulldogs and Lane Kiffin is waiting to pounce.

James Franklin: Of course, this loss won’t hurt Penn State’s playoff chances — they have their brownie program to thank for that — but who gives any hope that they can do anything about it? With Saturday’s loss, Franklin is 1-7 against top 10 teams at home, 6-10 against ranked teams at home, 1-9 against top 5 teams and 1 against Ohio State since being hired at Penn State. It dropped to -10. What is the definition of insanity?

Iowa State: The Cyclones entered their matchup with Texas Tech with a perfect 7-0 record and a top-10 ranking. Iowa State narrowly escaped last week’s game against Central Florida to secure their seventh win of the season, but they were still considered the favorite against the Red Raiders this past Saturday. The 23-22 loss to Texas Tech was a double whammy. It represented Iowa State’s first defeat of 2024, but it also tightened the race for a spot in the Big 12 championship game in December. BYU and the Deion Sanders-led Colorado Buffaloes have lost just one game in conference play and are legitimate contenders for the Big 12 title.

James Franklin looks on

Texas A&M: A single blowout loss appears to have all but dashed the Aggies’ SEC title hopes. They have a chance to continue their tenure as one of the best stories of the season and challenge for an expanded play-off spot. But if their recent losses are any indication of who they really are, forget that.

State of Florida: 1-8 The Seminoles are on a five-game slump after allowing a season-low 11 points in their last loss to North Carolina over the weekend. Head coach Mike Norvell called the loss “disappointing” after Florida State’s offense managed just 201 rushing yards. UNC running back Omarion Hampton broke through the Seminoles’ defense with four touchdown runs and a 49-yard touchdown pass in the 35-11 victory.
