What did Shirley say about JFK’s 45th birthday party?

“When Jimmy Durante and I performed for the president and the crowd at the famous celebration for John F Kennedy’s 45th birthday at Madison Square Garden,” Shirley wrote in 1962. “What most people remember is Marilyn Monroe singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to him.” He also wrote: “Later, everyone went to a party at the house of Arthur Krim, the finance chairman of the Democratic Party.”

According to the report, the book includes a black-and-white photo with John, also known as Jack, in the background. He wrote in the caption: “Jack Kennedy had just come out of the bedroom behind me and Bobby Kennedy had just walked in. Marilyn was in the bedroom.”

She shared another photo of herself with Teddy Kennedy and this photo was clicked in 1984. She wrote in the caption: “Here I am telling this story to Teddy Kennedy… and he laughs the whole time how the kids get away with it.”

About Marilyn, JFK and Jackie

After Marilyn performed her Happy Birthday show on May 29, 1962, which would have been John’s 45th birthday, his wife, Jacqueline Lee ‘Jackie’ Kennedy Onassis, reportedly gave him an ultimatum. This reportedly ended the relationship between Marilyn and John.

And you’re going to move into the White House and take on the responsibilities of the First Lady, and I’m going to move in and you’re going to have all the problems.”
