Taylor Swift, Detroit Lions and hot dogs! Grand Blanc students show off their Halloween costumes

GRAND BLANC, MI – Have you ever seen Taylor Swift nail a hot dog?

What if Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions players had a vampire, a banana, and Super Mario Bros. How about dancing with?

It was truly a spectacle as nearly 500 students showed off their Halloween costumes in a parade for parents, staff, family, friends and classmates in front of Cook Elementary School in Grand Blanc on Thursday, October 31.

The costumed group included Sonic the Hedgehog, police officers, princesses, Hermione Granger, witches, wizards, Power Rangers, Charmander, Garfield, Naruto, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Beetlejuice. And Stitch too.

It’s a crowd favorite, even a kid dressed as a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Students ages five through second grade at Cook Elementary School were joined by third-graders from neighboring Mason Elementary School, who joyfully showed off their favorite Halloween costumes ahead of tonight’s trick-or-treating.

The parade began in the school’s hallways as Mason Elementary School third-graders walked through the halls and classrooms, and when the end of the line was in sight, the next grade jumped and built at the end of the conga line. before going out.

Students paraded through the school and through rows of parents, family and friends who lined up outside to see their gorgeous outfits and the children wearing them.

“It’s so much fun for them to have this moment to actually be kids,” said Tia Dale, principal of Cook Elementary School. “They’re just having fun, being silly and playing with their friends and teachers. There are so many cheerleaders and princesses, I even saw a few zombies come to school today.

“It gives them a sense of wonder. School should be fun, a place to learn and have fun. Our usual focus is on being responsible, kind and safe, and even that fits into this fun day.”
