BOSTON — Samuel Ersson stopped 23 shots, Tyson Foerster held a scoreless tie early in the second period and the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Boston Bruins 2-0 on Tuesday night.

Joel Farabee added an empty-netter with 24 seconds left and the Flyers won in Boston for the first time since a 3-2 victory on April 5, 2021.

Ersson recorded his sixth shutout this season and first career shutout. He survived the scare about five minutes into the third quarter when he got behind the puck after glancing off his skate. But he jumped back and prevented him from crossing the line.

Bruins: Even though they were ahead 21-12 in the first two periods, the Flyers had no answer. Boston was eliminated for the second time in four games, losing 4-0 to Nashville on October 22.

Boston’s Joonas Korpisalo made 17 saves.

He managed to return to his hut. Foerster scored 1:24 later.
