Four new venues open at Sydney’s Sofitel hotel

Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, the city’s first five-star hotel recently reopened Following a $70 million renovation, more than 15 renovated event spaces were added, including 436 brand new rooms and a 750-seat ballroom. Brought to life by House Made Hospitality, the team behind popular Sydney spots like the underground Sicilian cocktail bar Apolloniapasta heaven Granadaand beach restaurant Promenade Bondi Beach – there are two spots in these four new venues restaurants and two bars. Ready?!

The first of these is Tilda (the name suggests), a stylish and casual restaurant that reflects Australian nostalgia. Matilda’s waltz) with stylish interiors and a menu that champions the best of land and sea. Highlights include the bread and butter course AP Oven saltbush focaccia and a plate (yes, plate) of Pepe Saya is seasoned with butter, chopped chives, shallots, salt and pepper and served with shaved macadamia, Jersey milk cheese, wildflower honey and watermelon. If this sounds ridiculously good, over-the-top and indulgent – ​​you’re right – and yes, you should definitely order it. Other highlights include charred octopus with almond cream, paprika and sea parsley; crab tagliatelle with zucchini, garlic, paprika and lemon; and a mixed grill of ribeye, lobster, sides and condiments.

“We hope Tilda captures the essence of timeless contemporary Australian food,” said House Made Hospitality director Justin Newton. “Interiors reflect the earthy tones of the Australian landscape and the menu supports our best growers and winemakers.”

Next up is sister Bar Tilda, a super-chic cocktail bar offering jazz live music, a Martini cart and over 100 Aussie whiskeys perfect for pre- or post-dinner libations. Time Out Sydney checked out Bar Tilda and confirmed the Negronis and ambience were spot on. The drinks list was curated by Jason Williams, director of House Made Hospitality, known for opening hotel bars that have made the World’s 50 Best Bars list, including Raffles Singapore. Bar Tilda’s signature cocktails pay tribute to old-school Australia, such as Ringo Loves a Blueberry, inspired by The Beatles’ 1964 tour.

There’s also Delta Ru, a Vietnamese-French restaurant inspired by the romance of 1920s Hanoi. Newton says Sydneysiders can expect light, bright and fun fare steeped in tradition. Highlights include duck spring rolls, lemongrass sate pipis with vermicelli noodles, and Hanoi-style roasted John Dory. You should also know that Ban? The trolley where Vietnam’s most famous sandwich gained the glory it deserved, made and served tableside. The 150-seat restaurant, with an additional 60 seats on the terrace, reflects the holiday atmosphere with lush plants, ornate wallpapers and plenty of emerald green.

The last of the four new House Made Hospitality venues at the revamped Sofitel Sydney is Wentworth Bar, an open-air rooftop bar located on the fifth floor. One of our favorite things about Wentworth Bar is their party cocktails; It’s a huge drink poured into 12 fun and fruity glasses, making it an ideal choice for team pranks and pre-drinks with the gang (We prefer the Strawberry Yuzu (We prefer the Strawberry Yuzu, sprinkle with white wine, herbal aperitif, yuzu, mango, passion fruit and grapefruit) . With live DJs, a lively atmosphere and plenty of greenery, Wentworth Bar makes a strong case for your next drinking spot.
