At least seven people arrested in multi-agency raid on West Coast

SAN ANTONIO – Multiple law enforcement agencies worked together to execute search warrants at two homes on the city’s West Side Tuesday morning, resulting in the arrests of seven people.

According to Eric Burns, assistant city attorney and head of the Dangerous Assessment Response Team (DART), two homes near West Commerce Street and Belcross Street had code concerns and a history of criminal activity.

About a month ago, the city received concerns about utilities and criminal activity at two homes. Following the investigation, DART Unit, SAPD, SAFFE Unit and Animal Control teams conducted a raid.

“Prior to any action we took, we were doing our investigation to make sure our suspicions of criminal activity and code concerns we had were confirmed,” Burns said.

Concerns about the rules were that no plumbing was connected to any of the homes. Instead, investigators found the utilities were illegally connected. CPS Energy will now investigate.

When it comes to criminal activity, West SAFFE Sergeant and Chief Michael Ross said at least seven people were arrested.

During the raid, law enforcement also found several weapons. No charges have been announced at this time as the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities said Animal Control responded to the scene with the dogs in the homes, but they did not pose a danger to anyone.
