Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs prepare for potentially clinching postseason clash with Leon

CORRIGAN, Texas (KTRE) – The Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs began the 2024 season with a 2-3 record in non-district play and then improved to a two-and-one record in district play.

After beating Normangee 46 to 28 last Friday, the Bulldogs have an opportunity to clinch their postseason berth against Leon on Friday.

But with everything on the line for this week, Bulldogs Head Coach Brett Ratliff says he’s keeping his team focused with a potential district title on the line next week against Centerville.

“I think there’s a lot at stake for this week, you know,” Ratliff said. “…locking up a play-off spot, helping us get into the play-offs and eventually getting a chance to play for the district championship”.

While Ratliff’s excitement for next week’s clash with Centerville is on full display, he realizes that if they don’t take care of business on Friday, nothing matters.

“We played them for a long time, back and forth, and they won the last couple,” Ratliff said. “…and yes, we’re looking forward to challenging them for the district title, but you can’t do that unless you make it, and we’re going to work our butts off to do that.”

The Bulldogs will play away for the last time in the regular season this Friday against Leon, kick-off is at 7pm.
