Pas RCMP searching for escaped prisoner

Pas residents are asked to lock their doors and be alert for an escaped prisoner from the RCMP who is considered dangerous.

RCMP Manitoba said in a press release Monday night that two inmates escaped from Pas Correctional Facility. The incident took place around 19.00 in the evening

“Officers responded immediately and began extensive searches around the Cathedral and 3rd Avenue and continue to patrol the community of The Pas with the assistance of Police Dog Services,” RCMP said in the statement. he wrote.

One of the fugitives was caught around 20.30 in the evening

The second inmate, Brandon Anderson, 29, remains at large, police said.

Mounties say Anderson has a history of gun crimes and is considered dangerous.

Anderson is from Nelson House and stands 6 feet tall and 170 lbs. He was last seen wearing gray sweatpants with yellow stripes and a gray T-shirt or sweatshirt.

RCMP are asking nearby residents to lock their doors and turn on exterior lights. Residents are asked to call 911 if they spot Anderson.

RCMP asked officers from the Manitoba First Nation Constabulary to assist.

Authorities say a drone was used to search the area.
