His long winning streak ended with a challenge to Belal Muhammad at UFC 304, and the new champion doesn’t seem eager to give Edwards a rematch anytime soon.

In his first chance to become a champion, he was successful, earning a second (unofficial third) victory over league king Brandon Moreno. In his first defense of his shot, he entered another rematch, this time against Brandon Royval, proving once again that he is the better man and still the best 125-pound fighter on the planet.

However, becoming a lightweight champion is not a goal he will achieve throughout his career after losing to lightweight king Islam Makhachev on two occasions.

He is also no longer the king at featherweight and no longer among the top three fighters in the world. Still, he’s a must-have name in the UFC’s pound-for-pound rankings.
