St. Joseph County (Mich.) mother detained after 2-year-old child’s death

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. (WNDU) – A mother was taken into custody on a charge of involuntary manslaughter after police said her 2-year-old child died Thursday.

Deputies with the Joseph County Sheriff’s Office were called to Memory Lane Trailer Park in Sturgis County just after 12:45 a.m. for an unresponsive 2-year-old child inside a home.

Unfortunately, efforts to resuscitate the child were unsuccessful and the child was pronounced dead.

Investigators detained the child’s mother on a charge of involuntary manslaughter due to the circumstances surrounding the death, police said.

Anne is currently in St. He is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail. He has not been identified at this time.
