Baltimore police arrest 19-year-old suspect in deadly Central District shooting

BALTIMOREMD — A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting in Baltimore’s Central District in September, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

Homicide detectives allege Quontay Spinks of Washington, Maryland, shot and killed 36-year-old Antonio Peoples on September 14 in the 700 block of Aliceanna Street. Officers responding to reports of a shooting around 11:53 pm that night found Peoples suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

Spinks was captured by the Warrant Apprehension Task Force in Washington, D.C., on November 1 and then transported to Baltimore’s Central Reservation Intake Facility. He is charged with first-degree murder in the killing.

Police did not release further details about the motive or circumstances of the attack.
