Stun gun was activated when man resisted deputies

While on patrol at a recent concert event in Pahrump, two Nye County Sheriff’s Office deputies encountered a physical fight in progress between several adult males, according to the sheriff’s office.

As stated in the official arrest report, upon arrival at the scene, Deputies Sedrick Sweet and Deon Ford responded immediately.

“After communicating with the group of men, I attempted to de-escalate the situation,” Ford’s report said. “I identified an adult identified as Maximo Carrillo,” Ford said in the report. “Maximo was one of the primary aggressors as he was actively wrestling, pushing and punching other male adults.”

Carillo also allegedly fought with security guards prior to deputies’ arrival, Ford said.

Ford’s report stated, “Private security personnel caught Maximo to restrain him and calm the situation.” “Maximo continued to resist, pushing security personnel away.”

When Ford attempted to detain Carillo, Carillo began aggressively resisting being handcuffed, the report stated.

Ford was finally able to handcuff Carillo after pinning him to the ground, according to the report.

“I held Maximo down until other units arrived to assist.” he said. “Maximo continued to scream and spit while he was on the ground.”

A short time later, Deputies Jose Parra and Christopher Helgerson arrived on scene to assist.

The arrest report stated that Carillo kicked Sheriff Helgerson during the scuffle.

He was beaten by another MP before being successfully detained just after 10pm.

For his alleged actions, Carillo was charged with battery on a protected person and resisting a public officer.

Bail was set at $3,000.
