Police investigating woman’s body found in woods in Northeast Philadelphia

Philadelphia police were investigating after a woman’s body was found in wooded areas in the city’s Bustleton area on Thursday night.

Police said the body was found Thursday afternoon near Verree Road and Tustin Boulevard. It was determined that the woman, whose identity was not determined by medical teams, died at the scene.

The body was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the cause of death, which the police described as suspicious.

Fox29 reported The body was believed to be that of a woman who had been reported missing and was last seen on Halloween night.

The woman’s family members posted on Facebook that she called her mother and told her she was being held against her will by a man. Family members reported Wednesday that the woman’s car was found abandoned in front of a junkyard.
