How Does Sacheerome Hit the Right Notes with Its Smells and Flavors?

Sacheerome, India’s leading fragrance and taste (F&F) company, is on a mission to become a leading global player in the F&F industry by 2030, following its successful runs at the World Perfumery Congress in Geneva 2024 and Miami-USA 2022. With products crafted by expert perfumers, tastemakers and technologists, the creative house caters to world-famous FMCG brands to deliver unique sensory experiences. Managing Director Manoj Arora says that their goal is to increase its share in the Indian market as well as global markets in the Middle East, Asia Pacific, Far East and Central Asia.

Q1. How fast is the food and beverage market expanding in emerging markets? Where are Sacheerome and India in this growth trend?

Serving both the Food and Non-Food FMCG sectors, the fragrances and sweeteners industry is rapidly expanding in emerging markets. Traditionally, fragrances and flavors were used to mask unpleasant odors and enhance the taste and aroma of products. But today’s consumers are looking for products with dynamic scents and flavors that elevate their mood and transform their emotions.

At Sacheerome, we specialize in creating custom scent and flavor compositions with pleasant notes and tastes. Backed by rigorous scientific research and technological innovation, our F&F offerings include carefully crafted scents and aromas made from unique ingredients. These are designed to provide functional benefits such as better retention, delivery, longevity and overall consumer experience.

We believe that the food and beverage industry has significant growth potential in emerging markets, driven by changing consumer preferences, increasing disposable income and increasing demand for personal care, health, wellness and beauty products.

Q2. You recently represented India at the World Perfumery Congress in Geneva. What were the takeaways for you?

Our partnership with the World Perfumery Congress (WPC) is long-standing. WPC is the leading global platform to showcase and discover fragrance innovations, ingredients, technologies and commerce. At the recent WPC in Miami, USA, I had the privilege of speaking at this global forum on the topic “Past, Present and Future of the Indian Fragrance Industry – Decoding its DNA”.

We introduced groundbreaking scents and cutting-edge technologies at the 2024 World Perfumery Congress held in Geneva this year. Our team of experts showcased a variety of innovative fragrance combinations and offered customized solutions to meet unique consumer preferences and needs. Through our technical interactions, it has been reaffirmed that there is a global demand for products that combine advanced technology with health benefits, odor control and long-lasting fragrance experiences.

It has been incredibly rewarding to see our latest innovations (Sach/Natura, Sach/Maxicap and Sach/Odocon) become widely recognized. Another fragrance series, ‘Sach/Veda’, developed by combining ancient Ayurvedic knowledge to provide health and well-being, is highly appreciated.

The participation of well-known perfumers, senior executives and industry experts from leading companies was particularly exciting for us. By leveraging this platform to connect with veterans and pioneers in our field, we were able to make the experience even more valuable.

Q3. Tell us more about your upcoming YEIDA and Dubai facility.

We are currently in the process of building state-of-the-art, smart and green infrastructure at YEIDA near the upcoming Noida International Airport. This facility will include two separate buildings dedicated to scents and tastes. While our existing robotics facilities already meet international standards and can compete with the best in the world, the new facility will be significantly larger and integrate advanced process automation to further increase efficiency and sustainability.

We also aim to establish a Research and Innovation Centre, Application Laboratory, Evaluation Center and Warehouse in Dubai/UAE to enhance our service and accelerate delivery to our global customers.

Q4. How is Sacheerome using AI and robotics to improve F&F production?

In the fragrance and aroma industry, robotic technology offers significant advantages in terms of productivity, quality control and safety. Robots specialize in performing repetitive tasks with extraordinary precision, ensuring consistent efficiency in scent and taste production. Our current facility is fully automated and benefits from improved accuracy and consistency. Our new facilities will be even faster with increased production capacity to meet the demands of our wide range of Indian and global customers.

By leveraging artificial intelligence technology, we can identify key factors that influence the performance and preference of both our products and the final end products. This allows us to optimize product selection based on geography, gender, age, income range and regional customer preferences. After all, the perfumery industry thrives not only on skill, but also on a mix of techniques, research, innovation and emotional resonance.

Q5. What are Sacheerome’s main export markets? What is Vision 2030 for Sacheerome?

Sacheerome not only serves a wide Indian customer base, which includes major FMCG companies at par with global giants, but also actively collaborates with a wide range of international businesses, both large and medium-sized. As the world becomes more interconnected, our influence and presence continues to grow, allowing us to deliver the best scent and taste experiences around the world.

In addition to R&D and other facilities in the Middle East, we plan to establish similar facilities in Indonesia to address fast-growing markets in Asia Pacific, the Far East and Central Asia. We also aim to provide effective access to global markets by expanding our operations in Africa and the USA.

Our goal is to become a major global player in the fragrance and aroma industry by 2030, with our passion to bring joy, evoke feelings and inspire emotions.
