    Description of Paddington’s ending and post-credits scene in Peru

    For those who can’t get enough of Britain’s most famous brown bear, director Dougal Wilson has treated us to a post-credits look. Here it is Paddington in Peru The ending was announced for good measure.

    There are some movies you can take or leave; but when it comes to Paddington, we always want more. Not only does threequel achieve this, but new movie It features Olivia Colman bouncing around as a singing nun in the Peruvian hills. Is there a reason? Not exactly!

    But it’s all good fun, and by God, we need it while we can get it. You won’t even notice that Sally Hawkins has been recast, with Emily Mortimer stepping seamlessly into the role of Mrs. Brown.

    What are those pesky Browns doing this time? Do what any bear with his own passport would do and get out of Dodge. Here are the post-credits scenes, as well as information about the full ending of Paddington in Peru. Clearly, There are spoilers ahead.

    Paddington ends in Peru: The Mother Superior has a dark side

    Let’s rewind for a second. Paddington got himself a brand new passport while also receiving an alarming letter from the House of Retired Bears. According to the Mother Superior (Olivia Colman), Aunt Lucy (Imelda Staunton) has become reclusive and depressed, and Paddington is encouraged to come and visit her.

    Of course, the Browns, aging and with new insecurities, are soon there, but when they arrive, they can’t find Aunt Lucy anywhere. The Mother Superior is suspiciously coy about all this and sends the family on a wild goose chase across the Amazon (except for Mrs. Bird, played by Julie Walters, who stays behind). They soon meet Hunter Cabot (Antonio Banderas) and his boat owner daughter Ruth (Carla Tous).

    They agree to take Aunt Lucy to the place where she was last seen, Rumi Rock. We learn that this is supposedly the entrance to El Dorado, but it is also revealed that Hunter has his own intentions to go there. He comes from a long line of gold diggers driven mad by a greedy agony to find it. Neither succeeded as Hunter felt the pressure to bring the treasure home.

    Hunter notices Aunt Lucy’s bracelet because Paddington was wearing it the entire time he disappeared. He believes this is the key to finding El Dorado and “unraveling” its meaning. That night, wanting her father to focus on what’s really important, he throws Ruth off the boat and accidentally does the same thing himself. The Browns wake up to choppy waters after the boat sinks.

    Paddington later leaves the Browns and finds Hunter at Rumi Rock. According to legend, it was the bears who opened the way; Hunter uses Paddington’s good heart to lead him on a two-man chase to the entrance.

    Back at the nursing home, Mrs. Bird is after the Mother Superior. He discovers a secret room behind the organ, where the Abbess keeps an eye on the Browns through the tracking necklace he unknowingly gave to Mrs. Brown (Emily Mortimer). Under the guise of security, he offers to fly Mrs. Bird to them as they get closer to tracking Paddington.

    From there, all hell breaks loose. Paddington and Hunter reach the supposed entrance to El Dorado (using Aunt Lucy’s advice) only for Hunter to try to kill Paddington for the bracelet. At the same time the Abbess rallied the Browns and landed at the same ground, which led to a tussle against all parties.

    Here we learn that the Reverend Mother is Hunter’s long-lost cousin and that he is being employed under the guise of a nursing home to find El Dorado’s gold. When he found Aunt Lucy investigating this matter, she threw him into the Amazon and faked disappearing, knowing that Paddington was the key to solving the mystery.

    Paddington’s ending in Peru leads to the Reverend Mother being banished (she’s not dead, don’t worry), while Hunter has a change of heart after reuniting with Ruth. Paddington uses the bracelet to unlock an entrance built into the cliff and learns that El Dorado is actually where he came from, and better yet, Aunt Lucy is safe there.

    He explains what happened to him in the Amazon and how he found out it was Paddington’s house (surprise, the bracelet was actually his all along). Paddington meets his “tribe” and learns that the region’s gold is actually oranges. The bears posed as forest spirits to protect El Dorado from discovery (this will make more sense when you watch).

    The Browns believe Paddington will want to stay, but he actually wants to return to London with them. As a result, the family becomes closer than ever while maintaining their separate lives when Paddington invites the El Dorado bears for a vacation.

    There’s a familiar face in the post-credit scene

    Technically there is two scenes after credits In Paddington, Peru. The first follows the adventures of the El Dorado bears in London, while the second takes them all to see Phoenix Buchanan (Hugh Grant) in prison.

    As the credits roll, you’ll see a delightful montage of Paddington and the El Dorado bears being joyful in the Big Smoke. He even gives them all appropriate names, from Waterloo and Bromley By Bow to two tiny twins named Elephant and Castle.

    (If you haven’t figured it out yet, they are all the names of tube stops on the London Underground).

    This then pauses for a bit and Paddington takes the newly named gang to visit a familiar face in the second post-credits scene. This is none other than Phoenix Buchanan, the dazzling thief we first met in Paddington 2. He is still serving a prison sentence but hints that he will be released in the very near future. Paddington 4 maybe?

    Before another side project, Phoenix has a plan for the new bears: a spectacular stage show, Goldilocks and the Three Bears style. The star selects a few people to take part in their performances and it looks like the group will start working… but does it ever succeed?

    We don’t know, because this is where the post-credits cut to black (for now).
