Neighbors say woman whose body was found in freezer allowed suspects to live with her

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Police arrested 37-year-old Daniel Roush in connection with the murder of a woman whose body was found in a freezer in her mobile home.

On Thursday, neighbors told FOX5 the woman was in her 60s and had lived in the mobile home park community near 5500 Tres Piedras Road for more than 20 years.

FOX5 knows the woman’s identity but is choosing not to release it until the medical examiner identifies her.

But FOX5 has learned the rental office at the mobile home park called police Wednesday morning to conduct a welfare check because the woman had been seen walking her dog every day and neighbors hadn’t seen her in weeks.

Neighbors also said that the woman was doing work at her home and took two people with her to help with the birth.

The two eventually started living in the mobile home, but when the woman’s medication was stolen, neighbors say they were kicked out of the house at that time, too.

Someone who sees the woman regularly tells FOX5 that the woman expressed concern a few weeks ago that two people would come back and hurt her.

On Wednesday morning, police went to the mobile home to conduct a welfare check and found two people inside who they said were ‘acting suspiciously’ and did not know the missing woman’s whereabouts.

Police would later find the woman’s body in a locked freezer.

By Thursday, police would have arrested Roush.

FOX5 spoke with Christine Marshall, who has known the woman for 20 years, and she said the woman was very kind and open to strangers.

“He was so forthright and gave so much information, I told the police last night that every crook out there was in for a real payday,” Marshall said. “He probably would have given her anything she wanted, she didn’t deserve this.”

Metro police were also at the mobile home park on Thursday trying to find out when the woman was last seen alive.
