Nigel Farage says Reform Labor Party’s main rival in Senedd poll

Farage said in a statement ahead of Friday’s event: “The Senedd elections are now just 18 months away.

“We launched our Charter with the People of Merthyr Tydfil during the general election.”

Describing Reform as “now Labour’s biggest challenger in Wales”, he added: “Our conference in Newport marks the beginning of our efforts to offer a new choice to badly disappointed voters.

“Wales needs Reform.”

Between now and May 2026, Reform is expected to take the fight to Labor; This shows that people in Wales are paying the price for “failure after failure” of successive Labor governments.

Reform will argue that Labour, Plaid Cymru and the Conservatives are offering the “same old stagnant promises and policies”.

Reformation has not yet published a list of Welsh-specific policies for the upcoming election.

Party insiders are targeting the return of at least 16 Members of the Senedd (MS) in 2026; Farage has previously said Reform will win “a lot of seats”.

Reform did not win at all in Wales at this year’s general election, but came second in 13 of 32 seats, taking 16.9% of the vote.
