Democratic Party Chair Goes After Sanders, Asks for North Carolina Results in Online Posts

Jaime Harrison, chair of the Democratic National Committee, is already taking time out of her day job to criticize Senator Sanders for Democratic socialists’ assessment that Vice President Harris has failed to reach rural and working-class voters. Mr. Harrison also appears to have questioned the election results in North Carolina by reposting a message on X.

On Wednesday night, Mr. Sanders issued a scathing statement about “big money interests” and consultants who fail to connect with lower- and middle-class voters of all races in the center.

“It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the Democratic Party, which has abandoned working-class people, sees the working class abandoning them, too. “In the beginning there was the white working class, now there are Latino and Black workers,” Mr. Sanders writes. “While the democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they are right.”

Mr. Harrison hit back at that assessment on Thursday, writing that Mr. Sanders’ criticisms of the Democratic leadership were “complete nonsense.”

“Biden was the most professional labor President of my lifetime; She saved Union pensions, created millions of good-paying jobs, and even walked the picket line, and some of (Ms. Harris’s) plans could fundamentally transform the quality of life, and the President notes that the racial wealth gap exists among working people across this country.

“From child tax credits to $25,000 for a home down payment to Medicare to cover elderly health care costs in their homes. There’s a lot of post-election situations, and that’s not a good thing,” Mr. Harrison said, listing some of the vice president’s policies.

Mr. Harrison also took the time to repost a message from the fiercely anti-Trump X account known as Mueller, She Wrote. The user apparently questioned the results of the presidential election in North Carolina, noting that Democratic candidates across the state did exceptionally well in their respective races, while Ms. Harris fared poorly.

“So North Carolina went blue overall, except for the president. Dem Governor, Dem Lieutenant Governor, Dem school superintendent, Dem AG and 2 dem representatives. And Trump. Do I have the right to do this?” user writes.

Mr Harrison is not the only Harris world figure to be openly disappointed with party members for not getting the required results on Tuesday night.

David Plouffe, a senior adviser to Ms. Harris who was also the architect of President Obama’s two successful campaigns, apparently took shots at President Biden. “It has been a privilege to spend the last 100 days with the amazing squad led by @KamalaHarris and @jomalleydillon who left everything on the pitch for their country,” Mr Plouffe wrote on X on Wednesday afternoon. hole but not enough. A devastating loss. Thank you all for being in the arena.”

Apparently Mr. Plouffe, after this message was sent deleted his account.

While Democrats suffered their worst defeat at the presidential level since 1988, the party was not completely wiped out, as one might expect from a red tsunami. At the Senate level, Democrats have managed to hold on to nearly all state seats, even in states carried by President Trump. Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin and Michigan (four of seven critical battleground states this year) all voted for Trump and apparently Democratic senators, and Democrats are ahead in each of those states, although not all races have been called. Senator Casey’s race in Pennsylvania is still unannounced, but it looks like he may be the only Blue Wall state senator to lose his seat.
