State pensioners warned as HMRC tax law suddenly changes | Personal Finance | Finance

HMRC has issued a statement about tax codes after being contacted by someone concerned that tax codes had suddenly changed.

A customer contacted the government agency through X and asked: “My husband had the right to file a claim. state pension in September this year but did not request it. Could you please tell me why the tax code changed from 1383M to 931M?”

The tax authority first asked the person to explain which tax code was on the payslip. They said that the payroll issued on October 31 was 1383 million, and the payroll for November 7 was 931 million.

HMRC He then asked the man if a tax code notice had been sent about the change, but the person said he had not been sent.

The authority then advised the person to call the helpline about the issue unless they were in a position to speak on their own behalf.

The woman said she had records of the overpayment a few years ago but wasn’t sure if it would still be valid.
