JACKSONVILLE, NC (WITN) – The Jacksonville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in searching for a man who was reported missing Wednesday night.

The police department said Derico Sanders II was last seen in the area of ​​Meadows Gates Apartments off Western Boulevard around 8 p.m. last night.

Officers said Sanders, who is known to have some mental disabilities, ran away from his caregiver.

The police department said he was last seen wearing a black zip-up jacket with a gray shirt underneath and gray sweatpants.

Officers are asking anyone who sees him or knows his whereabouts to call Jacksonville Public Safety at 910-455-4000.
