New partnership will see new Iceland and The Food Warehouse stores opened in the Channel Islands

Food retailer Iceland is closing 10 of its stores in the Channel Islands, but shoppers will soon be able to buy its products from Alliance stores.

The future of the retailer on the islands has been uncertain since Sandpiper announced earlier this year that it would sell its stores to the UK branch of Morrisons.

The company announced that islanders will be able to purchase its products from Alliance stores under a new franchise agreement.

Island Foods said it was refocusing on “delivering quality and affordability” with its first Food Warehouse outside the UK due to open in Guernsey in early 2025.

As a franchisee, Alliance will offer Iceland’s product offering, including premium brand selections, seasonal products and an expanded value range.

Justin Addison, international and partnerships director at Iceland Food, said: “Partnering with Alliance is a significant step forward for us in the Channel Islands.

“We are delighted to be working with Alliance to continue offering Iceland’s innovative, value-driven product range to our customers in the Channel Islands.”
