Seattle woman arrested for second-degree murder after property damage incident

A 33-year-old woman was arrested for second-degree murder Tuesday evening in South Seattle, according to Seattle police.

On Nov. 5 at 8 p.m., officers responded to reports of someone breaking a window at a nearby residence in the 9200 block of Spear Place S, police said.

When officers arrived, they found a 33-year-old woman who police said was responsible for the property damage. The woman was seen by the Seattle Fire Department for injuries and taken to Harborview Medical Center for further evaluation, police said.

Police also noted that during the investigation, police located the body of a 67-year-old woman with “obvious signs of trauma” at the residence.

Officers later arrested the woman when she arrived at the hospital, and according to police, the woman assaulted an officer during the arrest.

According to the police statement, the officer and the woman were evaluated and released from the hospital.

Seattle Police Department detectives booked the woman into the King County jail on a charge of second-degree murder.
