A funeral will be held for Jackmaster after the Scottish DJ died in Ibiza at the age of 38

A funeral ceremony will be held for Scottish DJ Jack Revill, nicknamed Jackmaster, who died at the age of 38.

Jack Revill died in Ibiza on Saturday, October 12, due to “complications resulting from accidental head trauma”.

Mourners are invited to attend the service at Clydebank Crematorium on Thursday 7 November.

Jack’s brother Sean made the announcement on X.

Born in Glasgow, Revill worked at the well-known Glasgow record store Rubadub and later co-founded the record label Numbers.

He had recently released the single Nitro, featuring Kid Enigma, and told Electronic Groove music magazine: “It was about getting excited and inspired in the club.

“Sadly these moments are so rare now, blame the phones and people not dancing, I guess.

“I’m very grateful to my fans, but I got into music because I love dancing. I think it’s a lost art form now.”

Dance magazine Resident Advisor described Revill as a “variable DJ” who “made a significant mark on dance music”.

British singer Örnek described Revill as “Really realistic”. Brutally honest. Ridiculous. Loyal. dull. Passionate. Frustratingly stylish. Insanely talented. A room was energized whether it was on deck or not.

“We had some epic nights together Jacky Boy. You will be missed.

Electronic duo Statement were among those who paid tribute, writing on Instagram: “I can’t believe this. Heartbroken. Thank you Jack for all the wonderful memories and inspiration. “This is really terrible, very bad.”

A post on Revill’s Instagram page from DU duo CamelPhat’s official Instagram account said: “I can’t believe what I’m reading… In an industry full of ego, you were definitely one of the nicest guys we’ve ever met. Our thoughts are with our family and friends. Give peace to my friend x.
