Philly’s Democratic Mayor Rips Harris and Says Biden ‘Probably’ Should Be the Nominee

Harris’ campaign hit back at the Democratic Party leadership in Philadelphia after a local party boss blamed the top finisher for poor performance in the city and insisted they had treated local leadership with a “lack of respect.”

The fight started with Robert Brady, chairman of the Philadelphia Democratic Party, tearing himself apart. Kamala Harris‘ campaign was said to be disrespectful and incompetent on Wednesday.

brady said Philadelphia Researcher He thinks Democrats should “probably” keep Joe Biden as the party’s nominee or pick a “better candidate” than the incumbent vice president.

The 79-year-old former lawmaker, who has led the Democratic Party in Philly since 1988, also criticized Harris for her lack of relationships with party leaders in the city; it was the biggest tie in the state, which was overwhelmingly seen as the election’s top swing state.

“They didn’t pay any attention to us,” Brady said. Researcher From Harris’ campaign. “They didn’t show us any respect. “I have never spoken to the lady and she is also a candidate.”

Brady said both Joe Biden and Barack Obama met with him and other local district leaders while campaigning in previous elections, and it “meant something.” This time, she said, organizers didn’t even ask them to join Harris on stage at rallies.

“It’s not that I have an ego, but it shows a lack of respect,” Brady said.

Brady said Harris’ campaign invited him to a meeting of Democratic leaders in Washington on Wednesday at 4 p.m.; this invitation was reportedly rejected, arguing that it was too little, too late.

The local leader also said Democrats made the wrong decision in choosing Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as Harris’ running mate. Instead, Brady said the campaign should call on Pennsylvania’s popular governor, Josh Shapiro, to join his ticket.

He sent Harris’ campaign adviser in response. Researcher A photo of Brady, Harris and Walz standing side by side. It was not immediately clear when the meeting took place.

Harris senior adviser Brendan McPhillips accused Brady’s organization of failing to campaign door-to-door for the Democratic nominee and even insinuated that the city’s local party was mismanaged.

Harris’ campaign “knocked on more than two million doors in the weekend leading up to Election Day, which is two million more doors than Bob Brady’s organization can claim to have knocked on during his tenure as party chairman,” McPhillips told the newspaper.

“If there is one immediate takeaway from Philadelphia’s involvement this cycle, it is that Mayor Brady’s decades-long practice of dodging campaigns to make money to compensate for his own lack of fundraising ability or leadership is a worthless endeavor that no future campaign should ever be forced to do again.” “To entertain,” he said.

Despite being overlooked as a running mate, Josh Shapiro is still on the campaign trail alongside Kamala Harris.

Researcher He reported that Harris’ performance in Philadelphia was the poorest among Democratic presidential candidates in the city in the last two decades.

But the problems in Philly, where Democrats have failed in voter turnout, went beyond just the candidates. Brady told his local newspaper that spending was also an issue, with Harris’ team spending about “half” of previous get-out-the-vote campaigns in the city.

From the outside, it appeared that Harris and her campaign were entirely based in Pennsylvania and Philadelphia. He visited the state more than any other during his campaign, holding 16 rallies there. He also flocked here for key campaign moments, such as his final rally on Monday night and his announcement of Walz as his running mate.

Harris had a number of campaign offices in Philadelphia. Researcher reported, but still failed to generate enough turnout there to keep up with the state’s red suburban and rural areas.

brady said Researcher He takes no personal responsibility for the damning loss suffered by the Democrats. He reportedly gave a frank assessment of Tuesday’s election results when asked.

“We did everything we could with the limited resources we had, and people rejected him and voted for him,” he told the newspaper.
