A teenager accused of stabbing a young woman in Peel has been taken into custody.

Dylan Craig Minton, 17, of Kerroo Coar, appeared before Chief Coroner Rachael Braidwood at Douglas Courthouse.

An earlier hearing heard allegations he stabbed a woman eight times in a wooded area near Campion Court, near QEII High School, on September 4.

He has not yet lodged a plea of ​​wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and being concerned about supplying cannabis.

No bail application was made and he remained in custody until his next hearing on 19 November.
