Bridgman health center expands to meet community needs

BRIDGMAN — Corewell Health Southwest Medical Primary Care – Bridgman has expanded. The 10,000-square-foot facility at 9623 Arrow Highway features primary care and laboratory services. The facility is now open to patients and operates from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 13:00 on Fridays. Laboratory services are provided by appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 07:30 to noon. Corewell Health Southwestern Medical Primary Care – Bridgman offers a full range of services to patients of all ages, including preventive services, chronic condition management and treatment for a variety of health problems. CLASSES

MISHAVAKA — Battell Community Centre, 904 N. Main St. offers the following fitness classes. Please note that fees and charges are subject to change without prior notice.

• Cardio Drumming — Combines dance and fitness. All skill levels are accepted. Mondays 18.30; Tuesdays and Thursdays at 19.00. Cost: $5 per class.

• Middle Eastern Dance — Fitness and fun for all ages. Level 1 (beginners), Wednesdays from 18:00 to 19:00; Level 2 (intermediate/advanced), Wednesdays from 19:15 to 20:15; Level 3 (approval from Ruby); Mondays between 18.00 – 19.30. For costs and information, contact Ruby at 574-315-1915.

SOUTHERN TWIST — Northern Indiana Alzheimer and Dementia Services Care Partner Academy will offer a free “Sunset Syndrome” class on November 11 from 10 to 11 a.m. Patty Piechocki, director of the Institute for Excellence in Memory Care, will moderate this live/interactive web session. SOUTH BEND – St. Joseph County Public LibraryCommunity Learning Center, 305 S. Michigan St., offers Yoga for All on Nov. 13 in the Ballroom from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

NILES — Niles Regional Library, 620 E. Main St. offers a beginner yoga class every other Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Community Room. The class is for adults 18 and over and welcomes all levels of experience. Bring a mat and wear comfortable clothing that allows movement. No registration is required and entry is free. The instructor is Sam Major from Dancing Feet Yoga. Next classes are November 11 and November 25.

GOSHEN — Goshen Parks & Recreation is offering Zumba classes to help participants relieve stress, lose weight and make new friends. The class is held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 18.30 to 19.30; Saturdays from 10 to 11 a.m. throughout December. Cost is $5 drop-in rate. Lesson, 524 E. SOUTHERN TWIST — “Health 101” — Changes are coming to Medicare in 2025. Do you know what these are? To learn and get the answers you need to other Medicare questions, visit St. Come to the free educational presentation at the Joseph County Public Library Francis Branch, The Pasture Room, 52655 N. This program is for anyone currently on Medicare who is approaching Medicare age, spouses and/or children of Medicare users who help make such decisions, and anyone under age 65 who is disabled and receives Medicare benefits. The information will cover a wide range of topics. The Medicare annual enrollment period is October 15 through December. 7. This event is on November 14, 17:30 – 18:30.
