The woman who was arrested for drunk driving with her two children in the car; Police say dog yelled ‘sic’ at officers

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – A woman was charged with neglect of a dependent after she was found drunk behind the wheel.

Officials said 24-year-old Raven Luckett was reported by her brother to have left the house while drinking with her two children in the car.

According to officers, Luckett was found at a gas station with slurred speech and talking nonsense to police at the scene.

They say Luckett was arrested after he refused to take any sobriety tests.

Officers said Luckett did not show any concern for the two children, a 14-year-old and a 4-year-old, but begged them not to take his dog.

He told officers that his dog “had bad intentions and was going to attack” as he was being loaded into the patrol car.

Police said an open bottle of alcohol was found in the driver’s door of the vehicle.

Luckett’s brother arrived at the scene to retrieve the children, the dog and the vehicle, but when police asked Luckett for the keys, they said he yelled “sic” at the officers for his dog.

He was charged with negligence, intimidation and driving while intoxicated and has not yet been released from the Vanderburgh County Jail.
