    First College Football Playoff The lineup for the 2024 season is clear.

    As expected, Oregon (9-0) was ranked No. 1 in the top 25 rankings, while Georgia, Miami and BYU were ranked in the top 10 and were the highest-seeded teams in their respective conferences to earn automatic bids.

    Other SEC teams in Texas, Tennessee and Alabama are ranked in the top 12, placing them in the new 12-team bracket if the regular season ends on Tuesday. Texas A&M, LSU, ole miss and Missouri also ranked in the top 25.

    How many teams are in the College Football Playoff 2024?

    There are now 12 teams in the CFP, starting with the 2024 season. The four highest-seeded conference champions earn first-round byes, while seeds 5-11 are at-large. If the 12th team falls outside the top 11 in the standings, it goes to the highest-ranked conference champion outside the Power Four.
