2 police officers shot and injured at Kentucky mental health center

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Two Kentucky police officers were shot and wounded at a mental health facility early Wednesday.

The officers were being treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, according to Bowling Green police spokesman Ronnie Ward.

The attack took place at the LifeSkills Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit, according to WKBO-TV. The website says the center treats patients with serious mental illnesses.

No other information about the shooting was immediately available. Kentucky State Police are continuing the investigation. State police did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment.

Ward told WKBO the officers will recover.
