Dave Challinor: Stockport County boss says heavy defeat at Wycombe Wanderers could improve team attitude

Challinor praised Wycombe’s performance but said questions about his side’s situation this term would be answered based on their performances.

“If there were any misunderstandings about where we are and what we need to do, this has been the answer to some of that for some people,” he said.

“They caused all kinds of problems for our backs with direct stuff, they were sweet enough to get the balls into really good areas, isolate against one and we just couldn’t deal with it or handle it well enough.

“This will tell you what we need to do and we need to do better.

“It’s about sticking together, understanding that and using that as a benchmark to say if there are misunderstandings in the dressing room between players saying ‘I think this is who I am’ or ‘I think this is who I am’, then it’s an eye opener.”

Stockport sit 10th in League One but have won just once in their last six league games and sit in sixth place with Bolton playing for the third of six consecutive games at home on Saturday.
