Last day to nominate in the NS election campaign

Today is the last day to nominate candidates in Nova Scotia’s provincial election campaign.

Under the state’s Election Code, nominations must close 20 days before election day on Nov. 26.

The Progressive Conservatives confirmed in a press release last week that they would have the full list of 55 candidates.

The NDP and Liberals confirmed they will have a full slate of candidates on Tuesday, but there is no immediate statement from the Green Party.

Liberal Leader Zach Churchill is scheduled to make a housing announcement in Halifax, while NDP Leader Claudia Chender is scheduled to hold an event in the Halifax area today.

Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Houston will campaign in the Halifax Regional Municipality’s suburbs.

When it dissolved, the Progressive Conservatives had 34 seats in the 55-seat legislature, the Liberals had 14, the NDP had six and one Independent.
