COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Chauncy Glover, a beloved news anchor and former WTVM reporter, has died at the age of 39.

Born and raised in Athens, Alabama, Glover has had a distinguished career in journalism, winning three Emmy Awards. He began his career at WTVM in 2008 and later moved to TV stations in Jacksonville, Florida, Detroit, Michigan, and Houston, Texas.

Glover most recently worked at KCBS/KCAL in Los Angeles. His family also confirmed the news, describing his sudden death as “an unimaginable loss”. According to CBS Los Angeles.

“We, Sherry and Robert Glover, along with Chauncy’s beloved family, are devastated by the unimaginable loss of our beloved Chauncy,” the Glover family wrote in a statement received from the station. “He was more than a son and brother; he was a beacon of light in our lives and a true hero to his community.”

The circumstances surrounding his death have not been made public.
