‘Roadside Vegetation Management Programme’

The Ministry of Public Works said it was “actively maintaining the Island’s roads, with Ministry of Construction and Engineering crews recently pruning trees and clearing overgrown vegetation in several parts of the Island.”

A Government spokesman said: “This effort is part of an ongoing program to manage roadside vegetation, improve road safety and maintain clear sightlines for motorists.”

Minister of Public Works Lt. Col. David Burch commented on the initiative: “Our crews are committed to ensuring our roads are maintained and improved by pruning overgrown trees and vegetation. “We understand the importance of safe and accessible roads for our community and are committed to ongoing maintenance.”

A Government spokesman added: “The Department acknowledges the public’s concerns about overgrown vegetation and emphasizes that community involvement is essential as the Government’s efforts continue.

“Residents are encouraged to do their part by maintaining vegetation on their properties and ensuring that overhanging branches or vegetation do not obstruct roads or sidewalks.”

The Minister added: “This collective effort will improve the safety and appearance of our communities and ensure our roads remain safe and accessible for everyone.”
