“Take You at Your Word” by Cody Carnes and Bejamin William Hastings hits #1 on the charts billboard‘s Christian Publication Chart dated November 9. During the Oct. 25-31 viewing week, the duet rose 5% to 6.2 million viewership impressions, according to Luminate.

Carnes and Hastings co-wrote the track with Aodhan King, while Austin Davis and Aaron Robertson co-produced the song.

For Carnes, 35, who has been married to singer-songwriter Kari Jobe since 2014, “Word” marks the first of his 11 appearances on Christian Airplay. He has three more top 10s. Most recently, “Firm Foundation (She Won’t)” peaked at No. 2 this past January, following “Ain’t Nobody” peaking at No. 2 in April 2023. Jobe and Height Worship, “Abundance: Alive” (No. 7, September 2020).

For Hastings, who hails from Belfast, Northern Ireland and now makes his home in Los Angeles, “Word” also became the first act to top the charts on Christian Airplay on his fourth attempt. The 32-year-old hit No. 13 last September with her song “That’s What Praise Is About” featuring Blessing Offor.

‘Everything’ You Need to Know

Singer-songwriter Otis Kemp makes second career debut in a row Bible Publishing No. 1 with “Everything” featuring Lena Byrd Miles (up 13% in week-over-week plays).

The song, which Kemp co-wrote with Kortni Kemp (her niece) and Candice Caton, follows her rookie breakthrough “Daily Bread,” which debuted for a week in July 2023.

Miles, who grew up in San Leandro, Calif., and grew up in Oakland, scored his second No. 1 hit with his fourth Gospel Airplay entry. His film “WOW (Walking on Water)” won in three frames in May 2023.
