America goes to the polls: Dawn voters line up to vote in Trump, Harris blockbuster election

Voters flocked to the polls at dawn on election day after Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump gave their final campaign speeches on Monday.

In the swing state of North Carolina, voters lined up before sunrise to cast votes that could be decisive in the closest race for the White House in decades.

Pennsylvania, another battleground state, also drew long lines first thing on election day Tuesday as voters raced to cast their ballots before heading to work; In Texas, voters participated in the election despite heavy rain.

Some voters traveled to St. Louis for this event. They dressed like a mother-daughter duo in St. Petersburg, Florida, wearing all white and sashes that read “Women Voters.”

“I brought her to vote in 2016 and we were very hopeful at the time,” Dawn Goddard said. ‘And today we are even more hopeful.’

The first votes in the country were cast just after midnight in the small town of Dixville Notch, New Hampshire.

The results were too close to call, as half a dozen voters were split three to three between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.

In fact, this is a sharp change from 2020, when Joe Biden outpaced all five people who voted against Trump.

With midnight voting on Election Day, Dixville Notch had the first results of its primary election, the first in the nation since 1960.

Last major poll shows Harris After eliminating the gender gap, he entered Election Day 4 points ahead of Trump.
