State police are investigating a crash that killed a man near Pymatuning State Park early Saturday

MEADVILLE — Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a crash that killed a 47-year-old man Saturday morning near Pymatuning State Park in western Crawford County.

The crash was reported shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday on East Lake Road in South Shenango Township, north of Jamestown.

According to state police in Meadville, a 2009 Honda Pilot was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed on East Lake Road when it went out of control on a curve and rolled about 200 feet after striking an embankment and trees. Police teams reported that the driver was removed from the vehicle.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, Crawford County Coroner Eric Coston said. He identified the man Monday as Edward J. Lipps, who he said lived in Jamestown.
