Deputies to Increase Patrols at Lincoln County Courthouse on Election Night

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – As the heated presidential race races toward the finish line, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is increasing election night patrols.

After security personnel leave at 5 p.m., they will have a deputy patrol the polls and remain there until all votes are counted, according to Lincoln County Sheriff Jerome Kramer.

Other counties, such as Scotts Bluff County, received election security grant funding through the Nebraska Crime Commission to patrol all polling places on Tuesday.

Sheriff Mark Overman said that although a record number of citizens voted early, they were not aware of any threats or issues to election security.
