    Fresh off the team’s World Series victory last week, Dodger star Enrique “Kiké” Hernández worked a “shift” as a fry cook and cashier at Raising Cane’s restaurant in Alhambra.

    The morning shift — serving customers at the drive-thru and check-in counter — was quite the opposite of the idea of ​​a star professional athlete leaving town for a resort after the big game.

    But Hernandez was happily working the morning promotional shift at Raising Canes, greeting fans eager to fight a Dodgers hero. With the World Series win still fresh, he took some time to reflect on his epic Dodgers season while eating some Chicken Fingers and fries.

    “The path the city showed us. “This is incredible,” he said. “It’s really hard to put it into words. But the last few days and the last few weeks have all been a dream.”

    Hernandez was especially clutch for the Dodgers, as he came up with timely hits and plays that made the difference in the playoffs.

    “So I walk to home plate and try to get a shot to hit,” he said of his approach. “When I find a good shot to hit, I put the ball in play and good things happen.”
