Texas A&M Aggies RB Le’Veon Moss Out for Rest of Season

Texas A&M Aggies They suffered a brutal blow Saturday’s 44-20 loss To the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko said Monday: Running back Le’Veon Moss attracts attention He will miss the remainder of the 2024 season after suffering a season-ending lower leg injury.

“Le’Veon will be out this year, so that’s something we’ll take care of,” Elko said.

Moss took a weak shot in the first quarter and had to be treated in the sideline medical tent. He was then taken to the locker room and missed the rest of the game.

The Aggies are already missing running back Rueben Owens, who suffered a serious injury during training camp. Elko said before the season started that there was an “outside chance” Owens could return if Texas A&M could advance to the postseason.

With Moss out, the Aggies will rely on Amari Daniels, who has been impressive in a backup role. This season, he has 94 carries for 466 yards and five catches for 59 yards, along with six touchdowns.

Elko said EJ Smith will be the new backup.

“I think we’ll try to look at everything on the table,” Elko said. “We have confidence in Amari. EJ will be the primary backup. Everything is on the table at this point.”

Moss finished the 2024 season with 121 carries for 765 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also added 10 grabs for 141 yards.

Texas A&M will rest during the bye week before hosting the New Mexico State Aggies on Saturday, Nov. 16.
