    Trump and Harris running virtually neck and neck NBC News’ latest pre-election poll found each candidate receiving 49 percent support among the 1,000 registered voters surveyed last week.

    The margin of error of the survey, which was announced on Sunday, was reported to be 3.1%.

    Poll participants believed Harris would better address abortion issues and have a better chance of bringing the country together. Respondents also thought Trump would be more competent in office and would handle inflation and the economy better than his opponent.

    Harris slightly ahead of Trump in ABC News/Ipsos poll

    ABC News and Ipsos found Harris with a slight lead over Trump in a poll of 2,267 likely voters. 49%-46%.

    The vast majority of Trump supporters surveyed (98%) believe the country is on the wrong track, while Harris supporters are more positive about America’s future (50%).

    While 38 percent of those polled said they voted early, Harris was leading 56 percent to 38 percent as of Friday morning. Forty-six percent of voters surveyed believed Harris had the temperament to lead effectively, while thirty-eight percent of survey participants believed Trump would lead the country effectively.

    Survey respondents believe Republicans will be better at handling the economy, crime and immigration, while Democrats are more credible on climate change, health care and abortion.
