Pedestrian killed on Main Street in Farmington crash

FARMINGTON — Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian on Main Street near Dunkin’ Donuts and the Farmington Post Office Monday morning.

Maine State Police are also on the scene along with the Farmington Fire Rescue Department. The latter conducts traffic control.

The pedestrian died at the scene.

A community alert was sent out around 10:30 a.m. following the crash, informing people that Main Street was temporarily closed.

He also warned people that traffic would increase on South Street in front of the University of Maine at Farmington Olsen Student Center and on High Street in front of Purington and Mallett halls as traffic was rerouted.

Citizens are asked to be more careful when crossing the streets.
