An Australian family’s unusual obituary is being talked about around the world.

Jennifer Ann Kelly, known as Jennie, died aged 88 on Monday (October 28) and her sons Sean and Chris Kelly, who grew up in the Sydney suburb of Forestville in New South Wales, have since written a tribute to their “wild” life. and rebellious” mother, according Sydney Morning Herald.

The death notification came after Christina Novak shared a post Four-sentence obituary for his mother inside Kennebec Magazine On August 30th.

It read: “Florence ‘Flo’ Harrelson, 65, formerly of Chelsea, died on February 22, 2024, without her family by her side, as a result of burning bridges and destruction in her path.”

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Novak, 47, said it was “not a joke.”

“It was written in a sarcastic and comforting way, but it’s real,” he added. “Written in four sentences because I refused to spend another dollar on that woman.”

“Florence did not want an obituary or anyone, including her family, to know that she was dead,” the obituary continued. “Because even in death, he wanted those he terrorized to live in fear over his shoulders. So this isn’t an obituary, it’s more of a public service announcement.”
