London’s Lisson Gallery, which exhibits some of Ms Cunningham’s artwork, said in a public appeal that she was 6ft tall and also wore black Converse shoes.

Jamie Klingler, co-founder of the Reclaim These Streets campaign to prevent violence against women and girls, said he had been in contact with Ms Cunningham’s family.

He added that Ms Cunningham was last seen getting into a dark Vauxhall with a man with long black hair and driving towards Islington.

Ms Klingler said on X: “Were you the driver? Did you see them? Did you see them get out of the vehicle at Islington?”

She ended her appeal with the hashtag #findsarah.
