Chris Martin fell through a trap door at a Coldplay concert in Melbourne

Washington: Singer-songwriter Chris Martin, co-founder of rock band Coldplay, had a close call while performing in Australia. The incident occurred during the band’s final show at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, where Martin was sharing stories with the audience from his international Music of the Spheres World Tour. Suddenly he fell through an open trapdoor on stage.

A fan who shot a video of the incident captioned his post on X: “The moment Chris Martin fell through a trap door right in front of me at the #Coldplay concert tonight.”

Martin told the audience: “This was not planned!” He added, joking: “Wow…, that was almost a YouTube moment!” As reported by People magazine.

Coldplay’s extensive tour kicked off in March 2022 and will conclude with a 10-date performance at London’s Wembley Stadium in September 2025. Following the Melbourne gig, Martin and his bandmates (guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion) head to Sydney to complete their Australian tour before moving on to New Zealand.

In addition to their touring schedule, Coldplay is preparing to release new music. In June, they released their 10th studio album, Moon Music, with the single “feelslikeimfallinginlove”.
