Mithun Chakraborty’s first wife, actor Helena Luke, passed away in the USA on Sunday, November 3. The cause of his death is currently unknown. Helena became widely known for her role as the British queen in Amitabh Bachchan’s 1985 film Mard. She was married to Mithun Chakraborty for just four months before their marriage ended.

The news of his death was confirmed by famous dancer and actress Kapana Iyer on social media.

He wrote his last Facebook post at 9:20am on Sunday, writing: “I feel weird. Mixed emotions and no idea why, confusion (sic).”

According to media reports, Helena was not feeling well and did not consult a doctor. After living in America for many years, he also worked for Delta Airlines and became known for his roles in films such as Do Gulaab (1983), Aao Pyaar Karen (1983) and Bhai Aakhir Bhai Hota Hai (1982).
