Free State man arrested after woman’s body found in toilet

A trail of blood leading to the toilet indicates that the victim’s boyfriend, who was arrested for the woman’s murder, was blamed.

A man is in custody after a woman’s body was found in a toilet near Bloemfontein.

Police arrested the man on November 3 after the victim’s friend reported the harrowing discovery.

The 34-year-old suspect will face murder charges when he appears in the Bloemfontein Magistrates’ Court.

Police were directed to a toilet in the Caleb Motshabi area of ​​Kagisonong, south of Bloemfontein, around noon on Sunday.

The victim’s friend went to the nearest police station shortly after 11 a.m. and reported that a body had been found dumped in a toilet.

“When they arrived at the hut, the police were taken to the toilet in the garden due to blood stains,” Free State police spokesman Sergeant Mahlomola Kareli said.

“In the restroom, members made the gruesome discovery of the body of a 29-year-old woman with multiple injuries to her head and upper body,” said Sgt.

The suspect, thought to be the victim’s boyfriend, was quickly followed and arrested a short distance from the scene.

Murder in Vhembe district

Elsewhere, Limpopo police have opened a murder case after a woman was found dead on November 1.

The woman’s lifeless body was found in a bloodbath near a dam in the village of Ha-Mphego at midnight on Friday.

“The victim, estimated to be in his twenties, suffered serious injuries to his forehead and hip,” Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said.

Lebwaba added that police are still investigating the incident and no motive or possible suspect has yet been identified.

Citizens with information about the murder were asked to contact the nearest police station as soon as possible.
