Fantasy Football RB Rankings Week 10: Who should start, best sleepers, waiver wire pick at running back

Week 10 is a great week for the running back position in both fantasy football and the real NFL. Football’s best running back, Christian McCaffrey, is set to return from injured reserve ahead of Week 2. His return to the field has been long awaited by fantasy managers and 49ers fans alike.

McCaffrey isn’t the only runner people will be excited to see on the field this week. Many stars like Derrick Henry, Saquon Barkley and Bijan Robinson will be available in Week 10. If you cast any of these three, you’d probably be pretty excited to have them in your lineup.

Unfortunately, not everyone has certified nails in their product range. Some managers have to decide between fringe RB2 options every week. If your roster fits this description, be sure to use our weekly retrospective rankings to help with tough roster choices.

Who are the best fantasy RBs of Week 10?

Derrick Henry leads the entire NFL with 11 touchdown passes. He had another dominant performance, rushing for 106 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns. He even added another 27 yards on the reception. While the Bengals’ defense looked good against the Raiders, this is a completely different situation and not something fantasy managers should worry about.

Saquon Barkley continues to dominate the running game. His talent was always evident with the Giants, but he’s finally starting to reach his ceiling behind a far superior offensive line. Facing a devastated Cowboys team next, perhaps more plays like this can be showcased this week as well.

Breece Hall had a solid but unspectacular game against the Texans in Week 9, but his usage remains elite as he saw 15 carries versus Braelon Allen’s four. He had two catches for 11 yards, and that’s where we want to see more production; in the passing game. With the Cardinals next, the Jets should rely on Hall to pace the offense.

Who are the bye RBs in Week 10?

Cleveland Browns: Nick Chubb continues to look healthy since returning in the last few weeks from his devastating knee injury last year, but this farewell probably comes at a very good time for him after being sidelined for so long. He certainly hasn’t been his old explosive self, as one would expect after such a long layoff and a tough recovery period, but the rest of the offense is abysmal as well. Hopefully the entire unit can regroup and get healthier during the bye week and come out strong in Week 11 against the Saints.

Las Vegas Raiders: Speaking of struggling offensive units, the Raiders are also getting a week off. Alexander Mattison is still the RB1 in this offense, but Zamir White is again seeing more carries and even converted a goal line carry, while Mattison did not. Abdullah’s involvement in the incident, especially in passing, becomes even darker. The Raiders have the Dolphins coming off their bye week, but this is a backfield to avoid if possible.

Green Bay Packers: Josh Jacobs is one of the true running backs in the league, and after a tough NFC North matchup against the Lions, he will need to rest before returning for another NFC North matchup, this time against the Bears. The Bears have some stingy cornerbacks, so offenses will generally be up to the challenge against Chicago, which could be a great situation for Jacobs executives in Week 11.

Seattle Seahawks: Kenneth Walker has become one of the elite fantasy runners this year with his contribution to the passing game. Like the Packers, the Seahawks are coming off a tough division matchup against the Rams and then take on the 49ers in another NFC West matchup in Week 11. Walker will leave a big hole to fill in Week 10, but will look for him to continue his heavyweight campaign. He will use it when he returns.

Who are the best fantasy RB waiver acquisitions for Week 10?

At this stage of the season, there are some pretty slim picks on the waiver wire. Ray Davis is the best option available as he continues to breakout in limited opportunities. Davis had just 20 yards on four carries, but he also added 70 yards and a touchdown on just two catches. It’s hard to rely on a safe floor in terms of volume, but he has value on his own given his explosiveness and is one of the best backups to roster. With the Colts next, the Bills may be in a positive game scenario for most of the game, which bodes well for the ongoing game.

Who are the top fantasy RB sleepers of the week 10?

Bucky Irving favors roster running backs from the Tampa Bay backfield, but given all the injuries in the passing game, Rachaad White still has a lot of value. With so few receiving options to rely on, White’s passing game usage remains important, which is all you can ask for with a running back in fantasy. And he still has a role in the running game, as head coach Todd Bowles has said he’ll go with a hot approach. With the 49ers next, Tampa will need to push to keep the tempo in the passing game so White can line up for a nice play.

While the Commanders’ defense has improved considerably since the start of the season, this unit is still coachable, and that’s exactly what the Steelers like to do. Najee Harris should see a lot of carries in this one. But there still needs to be a lot of work for Jaylen Warren to be a productive running back for fantasy purposes as well. Warren can also be used in the passing game, giving him more opportunities to have a productive day.

What are the biggest RB injuries from Week 10?

Week 9’s bye couldn’t have come at a better time for the 49ers’ backroom. There’s widespread speculation that Christian McCaffrey will finally make his season debut in Week 10, but until we hear that for sure, we’ll leave him ranked. We’re cautiously optimistic he’ll return, but we want to make sure. Even if she does return, don’t expect her to jump right back into the bell cow role. They will certainly want to see him back in action and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him as part of the committee for the remainder of the season.

Teammate Jordan Mason also continues to struggle with a shoulder injury. His injury re-aggravated in Week 8 and his condition in Week 10 is unknown. We’re keeping him out of the rankings for now, and it could be a big day for Isaac Guerendo if neither he nor McCaffrey suit up.

Brian Robinson was surprisingly inactive in Week 9 due to a hamstring injury. His injury was known, but it was thought that he could overcome this situation. Given the situation, we’re leaving it ranked until we hear more. If Robinson has to sit again, Austin Ekeler’s usage should increase again.

Zack Moss missed week 9 with a neck injury. He was still seeing plenty of snaps on pass rushes before his injury, but Chase Brown had already usurped much of the running game work. If Moss has to sit again, look for another monster workload for Brown.

Tyjae Spears missed another game in Week 9 due to a hamstring injury. It’s conceivable he’s getting close to a comeback, but we’ll leave him in the rankings until we get some positive developments. Tony Pollard continues to thrive on his own in the backfield.
